St. Louis Leaders Join September 10th
Iran Advocacy Push in Washington, DC
On Thursday, September 10, community leaders from St. Louis will join more than 300 Jewish leaders from around the country for National Jewish Leader Advocacy Day on Iran. Jewish leaders are gathering in Washington, DC for one day to raise awareness about the urgency of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
The St. Louis delegation includes:
- Terry Bloomberg, past president of the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC)
- Michael Litwack, past president of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis
- Barry Rosenberg, Executive Vice President of Jewish Federation
- Rabbi Brigitte Rosenberg, representing the St. Louis Rabbinical Association.
Briefings will take place at various locations in Washington, DC including the White House, State Department, and Pentagon. The delegation will participate in meetings with senior Administration officials and Congressional leadership on this critical issue. Delegates will also meet with our local members of Congress including Senator Kit Bond, Senator Claire McCaskill, Representative Lacy Clay, Representative Russ Carnahan and Representative Jo Ann Emerson.
This leadership-only event is spearheaded by the Inter-agency Task Force on Iran, which is led by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA), United Jewish Communities (UJC) and NCSJ: Advocates on behalf of Jews in Russia, Ukraine, the Baltic States and Eurasia.
